VCB at Submerge Science Festival

By Pablo Garcia

A pleasant afternoon break in the weather, with Submerge participants learning about the small craft boating experience along the Hudson River Park's Trust theater of operations, Piers 26, 40, 84 and 96th St.

Children learned about the difference between Kayaks, Outriggers and Whitehalls with a bit of history of signal flag communication activity from the South Seaport Museum. The knot tying activity from Village Community Boathouse has 13 new thole pin rings left over for Harbor and Stuyvesant school for use in their rowing teams.

Thank you, Nia Mozee, Carrie Roble and Maggie and Volunteers for making the 11th Submerge Science Festival, a smooth sustainable event to participate in.
