Our Fleet

Village Community Boathouse has a fleet of more than 30 wooden boats, most of which were built in our shop at Pier 40 or by our school partners.

Gigs

Gigs are long, stable rowboats for four or six rowers, steered by a coxswain. We have ten 26-foot Whitehall Gigs and a 32-foot pilot gig, King Tide. Used in the Community Rowing programs at Pier 40, gigs are the workhorses of our fleet.

Dories

Our two dories, Warrior and Gold Rush. These flat-bottomed boats have lines based on the Chamberlain gunning dory. Their natural finish and sleek lines have made them a favorite for photo shoots, and their light weight has made them a favorite of our racing crews.

Sculling boats

These boats for one or two have sliding seats and sculling oars, allowing them to go fast in expert hands.
